The BSU Feminists for Action’s Pro-Roe celebration table was a success!

While we got several nasty looks from apparent anti-choicers, the number of positive table-approaches greatly outnumbered the antis!

Some highlights:

  • One anti-choicer accused me of demeaning men by suggesting that the pregnant person in a relationship has a greater emotional investment than a non-pregnant partner.
  • Another anti-choicer made herself cry while recounting the tale of how her father’s ex-girlfriend had an abortion and “That was MY brother or sister.” I felt sympathy for her, but not badly enough to relinquish my and every other potentially pregnant person’s rights.
  • We were interviewed by the Faily Daily News! No word back on how badly we were misquoted. (Or how creatively my surname may be spelled).

For anyone who wanted the materials we distributed:

All in all, success!

Our Roe v. Wade demonstration went great. Now if only my dad would stop commenting on my Facebook picture of it, all would be well.
