I thought I was going to die at Crossfit today.

12 thrusters, 45#
12 pull ups (I did body weight inverted rows because the coach thought my pull ups were unsatisfactory, even with the band)
12 sumo deadlift high pulls, 45#
12 burpees
24 kettlebell swings, 12 kg

5 rounds for time: 35 min.

I looked like a large, sweaty tomato afterwards.

But I learned some stuff and got some corrections AND I wasn’t the last one done so I’ll call it a victory.

today, in the spirit of crossfit, I decided to do a shorter, more intense workout without breaks instead of the long workout with lots of breaks I usually do. The WOD on the crossfit website would have been awkward to do at my gym so I made up the following:

400 m run
400 m row
20 kettlebell swings, 20#
20 pushups on kettlebells

6 rounds in 45 minutes plus 5 sets of 1 power clean + 5 thrusters at 45#. I feel good about it. I’m going to try to do pushups every workout because they’re such a weak area for me.

As soon as I turn in my last midterm paper on Monday I will be a free bird for a few weeks, so lots of time to go to crossfit in indy and the gym here. That will be nice.

This is a lifting post.

I’ve lost 5 lbs this week and I PRed on both the squat and the deadlift at the gym. Getting really close to bodyweight on both. In a couple weeks when I have lost a few more pounds I will be at bodyweight.

I just want to be freakishly strong and compete in weightlifting competitions. That would be exciting.

What I really really want is to be able to do an unassisted pull up but my stupid weak fetus arms won’t cooperate!
