I just got done working out with Zach. Not like that you pervs…. 

Here’s what I did:

  • 25 crunches with my feet flat on the floor, knees at 90 degrees, and straight up in the air
  • 25 crunches to each side
  • 26 bicycle crunches [did twice]
  • 30 sec planks [did twice]
  • 30 sec T-stands left & right
  • 25 push up with my ball [cause I can’t do real ones :) ]
  • 10 butt curls
  • 10 butt curls with arms [5 pound weights]
  • 20 pumping butt curls [“baby butt curls”]
  • 20 bicep curls
  • 20 overhead press
  • 20 triceps [first 10 with 10lbs second 10 with 5lbs cause it got hard]
  • 20 side zippers left & right
  • 25 left lifts
  • 10 leg throws straight, left, and right
  • 30 leg lifts with my stomach on my ball

…and I think that’s about it. Zach and I helped each other with the leg throws and timed each other for planks. It was nice working out with him. Now I’m drinking a mango, almond milk, oatmeal, and greek yogurt smoothie [I know it’s not the healthiest smoothie but it was all I had] to help recover. 

 YAY WORKING OUT!

I will be a derby monster this year! 

Liz and I are going to the gym and doing this workout and more tonight! Since we’re drunk bums and didn’t make it to Saturday practice today.

I’ve started going to the gym with my friend who’s really into weight lifting. We lifted for an hour and a half today. I’m going to try to start doing an hour of cardio every day as well, in addition to 4-6 hours of derby a week. 

Lessons learned: I have weak little t-rex arms and even weaker wrists. My wrists hurt more than my muscles do.

Also I need to start taking protein supplements, probably.
